happy hours, teas, potlucks... and more!

Ashby Village Happy Hours are organized on the first Friday of every month, from 4:00pm-5:30pm at the Ashby Village Office, 1821 Catalina Ave, Berkeley. The office is wheelchair accessible. Please call us if you need a ride: 510-204-9200.
Other social events are organized by Neighborhood Groups. They take place in members' houses or in local restaurants and cafes. These events are meant to offer our members and volunteers an opportunity to get to know each other, engage in meaningful conversations, and have fun!

Every September we invite members and volunteers to bring friends and family and spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon in the beautiful (and fully wheelchair accessible) Padre picnic site in Tilden Park. Bring food or drinks, games and folding chairs! This is part of building a Village: meeting new people, sharing food and having fun together.

We offer the perfect way to celebrate the winter holidays with the whole Village!  Members and volunteers are invited to bring a dish to share and a book to trade at the book exchange table. You will enjoy terrific music and have the opportunity to connect with other members and volunteers.

Arts and culture series

Each year our Arts and Cultures series offers three events, with speakers drawn from our unique wealth of talented members and volunteers. These featured speakers are often nationally recognized poets, writers, artists, and academics.

Our Interest Groups are self-managed... and any member can start such a group!  They include Macular-Degeneration, Leaving with uncertainty (80ies+ members), LGBTQ, Movie Matinee, Book Clubs, Mac Users, Bridge, Puzzles, Collage, Creativity and Poetry.
Join one of them or start a new one!

Many events are organized by the Events Team and by the Arts & Culture Team ... and they are looking for volunteers!
