Nimitz Trail Hike

Nimitz Trail is a relatively level walk on a paved fire road along the ridgeline. It offers views of both San Francisco Bay and inland valleys, both quite beautiful at this time of year with the spring green of our winter months emerging! This is a dry hike regardless of rain in the preceeding days.

Meet: Inspiration Point - Central Picnic Table. Meet at the table in the center of the parking lot!

Directions: Follow Grizzly Peak Blvd. to the Shasta Entrance to Tilden Park. Follow Shasta Road down and at signs for Brazil Building keep right. After signs for the Botanic Gardens stay to the left and follow Wildcat Canyon Road for a little more than one mile. Inspiration Point will be on the left.

NOTE:This location is quite a winding drive so leave time to get there. Public Transportation does not serve this part of Tilden Park. Call for ride share one week.

Parking: There is plenty of parking in the lot.

Water, sun hat, wind breaker and or rain gear depending on weather/temperature. Walking sticks are not required but feel free to bring if you choose.
