WHEN: Saturday June 17, 2:00-4:00 P.M.

WHERE: Redwood Regional Park, Stream Trail/Bridal Trail

This trail is paved and packed dirt for the first mile and passes through meadows and picnic areas on the canyon floor, then it enters a lovely forest of towering redwoods, bay laurel and walls of lush ferns. Currently, due to winter rains the trail ends at (appropriately named) Trail's End) but there is a good chance that before we walk it will be repaired and open. Several hillside (steeper) trails branch off providing adventures for the stout of heart! we will climb a less ambitious but lovely trail beside the Stream trail to return.

Where to meet
(if necessary): We will meet at the north end of the parking lot (about a 1/4 mile beyond the Redwood Gate) of the Canyon Meadow Staging Area of Redwood Regional Park, 7867 Redwood Road, Oakland, CA. This entry is located off the north side of Redwood Road about 2.5 miles east of Skyline Blvd.

Transportation options if available: Carpools if Contact is called 3-4 days in advance

How to get there
: directions or map (if necessary)
Take Hwy 13 south to Redwood Road Exit. Turn left off the exit, and follow Redwood Road east, 2.25 miles past Skyline drive. Turn left into the “Redwood Gate”. Follow pavement to the end of the road, where there will be a couple of parking lots.

Equipment or special clothing, (if necessary) This is a relaxing hike. Good shoes are always helpful but poles are not needed unless you are more comfortable with them. Water is always a good idea.
