A lovely 3 mi walk on trails through the redwoods with minor elevation changes. We'll see remnants of the giants that were once here and visit the site of the Navigation Trees that guided sailors through the Golden Gate.

Meet: in front of Chabot Space & Science Center. 10000 Skyline Blvd, Oakland.

How to get there:
Directions: Take Hwy 13 to Joaquin Miller Rd exit, go east up Joaquin Miller Rd to the stoplight at the top, turn Left onto Skyline Blvd and go 1.5 mi to the Chabot entrance on the right. Free parking in parking garage.

Transit: The 339 bus runs every half hour between Fruitvale BART and Chabot, and also connects with the 57 bus at Fruitvale and Macarthur Blvd.

Clothing: Trail shoes or hiking boots. Bring hiking poles if you normally use them on hikes.
