Ashby Village and the UC Retirement Center collaborate to bring you a workshop based on key learnings from the Village’s Retirement Transition Group. We discovered four core topics that carry most of the questions and concerns around the shift from a full-time job to being “retired.” It helps to realize that, while we each take our own path, we are not in this alone and there are indeed some common themes (in many ways, retirement is like going to college for the first time: the opportunities are wide open).

Open to Ashby Village members and volunteers and to UC staff and faculty who have retired or are contemplating retirement.

 

In both small and large group formats, participants will discuss these core topics:

  • If retired, what surprised you most? If not retired                what are your main questions?
  • Finding structure in retirement
  • Purpose, identity, and meaning in retirement
  • Health and body changes in retirement
