Abrigo Valley Trail, Briones Regional Park - Level 3 mi with Optional challenge

Description: We’ll take the wide, nearly level trail that follows Abrigo Valley through riparian and oak woodland. We will  walk for a mile and 1/2 and turn around. A challenging option for North Bay views is to continue up to Crest Trail and down Mott peak  back to Abrigo. We will have several walk leaders to accompany walkers  and accommodate various levels of distance and walking pace. There is always the option to turn around and have someone go with you. Before we start out, we will discuss the options and plan accordingly.

Where to Meet:
Bear Valley Staging Area, 1611 Bear Creek Road. After passing the park kiosk, turn left into the parking area. We will meet there, where there are accessible potties. Do not go to the Releiz Valley Staging area!

What to bring:
Binoculars if you have them, good hiking shoes for the trails, layered clothing for variable weather, water, windbreaker, hat, snacks. Hiking poles are optional, but a good idea. Bring your cell phone if you have one!

Directions: FROM NORTH BERKELEY BART take Sacramento north to Hopkins and turn Right. At Monterey, turn Left. At Marin, turn slight right, then follow Marin and turn R on Grizzley Peak Bvd. At Shasta Road, turn L. At Wildcat Cyn Road turn right. Follow it until you reach Inspiration Point.
