                EXERCISE – HISTORY – AND SOCIALIZING!

Join us for an historical walk along Piedmont Ave. Ruby Long is an AV member and has been studying the history and leading walks in the Piedmont Avenue area and Mountain View Cemetery, where she is a docent, for a number of years.  She will share pictures and stories of the streetcar era, point out WPA sidewalk markers, architecture, and much more.

The 2ish mile jaunt will originate and end at CVS (back door by the parking lot) where you will find a large paid parking lot. We will stroll Piedmont Ave between Rio Vista and Echo taking in the shops, history, and architecture. There are identified restrooms along the way! 

NOTE: Due to sidewalk capacity, this walk is limited to 10 members/ volunteers. We can run a wait list and, if there is high interest, repeat this event at another time.


Where to meet and park: We will meet outside the entrance to the newly remodeled BACK DOOR of CVS Drugs (by the parking lot) , where there is a large paid parking lot. You may find free parking on nearby streets. Be attentive to parking time limits! 

What to bring: Dress in layers, bring hat, water, and a mask for any indoor activity (shops, restrooms) Bring your cell phone if you have one.

Covid precautions: Advisable to wear a mask regardless of vax and booster status due to the present surge.

Rain cancels: If we are rained out, we will try to reschedule.
