We will walk slowly to the end of the paved part of the Stream Trail which winds pleasantly through meadows and picnic areas, and into a grove of towering redwood trees and bowing bay trees, about ½ mile from the parking lot. We can turn around at any time.
Those who want to walk farther and faster can continue along the creek, where the trail is relatively flat, or can take the switch-back Chown trail to make a loop via the French Trail and Orchard Trail, for a total of about 2.5 miles.

To get to our meeting place for the walk, take the Redwood Road Exit off Hwy 13, go left on Redwood Road and over the hill for about 2 miles until you reach the Redwood Gate of Redwood Regional Park. Turn in here (Left) and drive about ¼ mile to the Canyon Meadow Staging area where you can park, and the trail begins.
