Roscoe is facing a health crisis and wants to make a dramatic exit.  In a humorous conversation with his loving wife of many years, she helps him come to a more reasonable alternative.

That All of Us Should Be Fed, by Eliza Anderson

In early 20th-century rural New England, a straight-laced woman visits the oddball town spinster, thinking she was asking for help.  When she finds out the spinster only wanted to talk, she at first is offended, but the conversation leads to a touching connection.

A Walk in the Park, by Aren Haun

When a husband and wife are mugged in the park, the mugger turns out to have a master’s degree in art history.  The overly-extraverted husband is gradually drawn into excited conversation with the mugger, to the great exasperation of his wife.
