PARK TO PARK WALK: CEDAR ROSE PARK TO STRAWBERRY CREEK PARK - Easy, flat 1 mile walk with  one mile add on available

RSVP Recommended to Shirley 510-525-7012, sajowell@icloud.com

When: Monday, June 7 10am - 12 noon

Where: Cedar Rose Park to Strawberry Creek and additional add on, as desired.

Open to: Members and Volunteers and their guests

Accessibility: Hikers with Walkers okay

Description and Directions This walk is especially good for those may have mobility concerns, as it is flat and paved. We will meet at Cedar Rose Park, on the Cedar side, where there are benches and a bathroom.  We will walk about a half mile on the old Santa Fe railroad track trail to Strawberry Creek Park sharing some of the historical past.  Coffee shop and bakery are available at Strawberry Creek Park. There are benches and bathrooms, as well. We will walk the half mile back.

For those wanting more, an add on would be joining Shirley on the Ohlone Greenway for a walk
to Gilman St. before returning to Cedar Rose Park (1 mile roundtrip). The Greenway is planted with natives, there are community gardens, the  Codornices Creek and some interesting murals to check out. There is also a nice place to have lunch - the Westbrae Biergarten, for those that are interested.

What to bring: Good walking shoes, layered clothing for variable weather, water, windbreaker.

Transit:  The 52 bus goes to Cedar Rose Park. Contact Shirley(above) for information.

Covid-19 Precautions:
