Silk Painting at Ashby Village
We will create a colorful design on silk with fabric resist and vibrant fabric dyes. Bring a simple image or use one provided. Most likely will be working outside, so dress for weather and wear an apron, or better yet, clothes you don't mind getting stained. All materials provided. We have received some funds from Ashby Village for materials but we are asking for a $10 donation for materials.
Members can work on their own projects or work together while we learn a new craft. Past projects have included: working with clay, collage, paper maché, wire working and more. One member has been working on a needlepoint periodic table that promises to be a masterpiece. Another member works on clay fairy houses that he leaves in parks throughout the Bay Area. You don’t need an art background to join…just curiosity and the willingness to try something new.
Please test before coming and feel free to wear a mask if you are more comfortable.
