THIS MONTH'S FOCUS: Utility Tax
Last year, the California Legislature passed a law (AB 205) that would add an uncapped Utility Tax of $30-$70 a month to everyone’s electricity bill with unlimited potential to grow. Even a Utility Tax of $30 a month would increase bills on millions of working class and low-income people who live in apartments, condos, and other homes that don't use much electricity.
Hear Igor Tregub, Strategic Partnerships Director and Senior Policy Advisor of Reimagine Power, describe the issues involved and what you can do to stop this from happening.
Conveners: Julie Freestone and Rochelle Lefkowitz
