Where: East Ridge Trail Head , Skyline Gate Staging Area, Reinhardt Redwood Reg. Park, 8490 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA

Description: Have a good breakfast, as this one starts at noon! East Ridge trail is a wide fire road which undulates gently through open woodlands of pine and madrone. Not flat, but easy to navigate. Frequent benches. 2.5 miles total. Out and Back. You can turn around at any point and return to parking. We hope to have walk leaders to accompany you!
Where to meet: Skyline Gate Staging Area parking lot, Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park located at 8490 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA
East Ridge trail is near the restrooms. It’s a popular staging area, so if there are no open parking spaces, park up the hill in residential area, or on the east side of Skyline Blvd.
What to bring: Good shoes for walking, water, sunscreen, layered clothing for variable weather, walking poles are always encouraged for stability and balance.
Directions from north: Drive south on Hwy 13 (toward Hayward). Exit Right at Park Blvdand turn Left at the traffic light (Park Blvd).
Cross over the overpass, and turn Left again on Mountain Blvd. At the 2nd traffic light turn Right onto Snake Rd.
After 0.2 miles, proceed straight ahead on curvy Shepherd Canyon Rd. forapproximately 2 miles (Snake turns abruptly left: don’t follow it).
Turn Right at Skyline Drive.
After about 0.3 miles, turn Left into the parking lot at the Skyline Gate Parking lot, 8490 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA.

Transportation: Members who need a ride can contact the AV office for a volunteer (please give advance notice) or have a friend bring you and be your guest.
