Where: Berkeley Marina - Meet at the State Park parking lot thru the gate closest to the restrooms, behind the Sea Breeze Cafe and Deli, 598 University Ave, Berkeley
Description:
We will meet in the State Park parking lot closest to the restrooms in back of the Sea Breeze Cafe and Deli, 598 University Ave, Berkeley at 10 am. We will walk to the Marina and shoreline, returning via the smooth firm dirt path of the Berkeley Meadow. This is a 2.5 - 3 mi. trek with sections that can be omitted, If needed. If we have enough walk leaders, folks can be accompanied back through the meadow for a shorter version. Optional lunch afterward at the Sea Breeze where we left our cars, or we can drive over to Skates By the Bay (100 Seawall Drive, Berkeley) for Bayview dining.
Directions and Parking: Follow your navigation setting to the Sea Breeze Cafe - 598 University Ave., Berkeley
or Take the 880 University Ave exit west on University to that address.
What to bring: Good walking shoes, layered clothing for variable weather by the bay (can be breezy), water, windbreaker, hat, and binoculars. Walking poles are always a good option for stability. Cash or credit card for the lunch bill if you are joining us afterwards.
Transportation: Members can request a ride from the Ashby Village office (advance notice), or have a guest bring you, and join you on the walk.
