Writings and Creative Work by Women over 80
The authors Dena Taylor and Wilma Marcus Chandler will do a presentation about their book with some of the women featured in their book who live in the Berkeley area.
DENA TAYLOR is the author of Exclamation Points: Collected Poems (Many Names Press); the co-author, with Becky Taylor, of Tell Me the Number Before Infinity: the story of a girl with a quirky mind, an eccentric family, and oh yes, a disability (Many Names Press), and the author, editor, or co-editor of six books on women’s issues. She is retired from careers in education and social work, and lives in Northern California. See https://www.denataylorbooks.com
WILMA MARCUS CHANDLER is a playwright, theatre director, and educator. Her books on theatre scholarship have been published by Smith & Kraus, Inc., and she has taught at the Univ. of Iowa, Univ. of California Santa Cruz and chaired the Theatre Arts Department at Cabrillo College, Aptos, CA, for many years. She has directed over 100 productions in the San Francisco/East Bay and Monterey Bay Areas and her poetry collection “The Night Bridge” was published by Hummingbird Press. The founder of the 8Tens@8 International Play Festival, The National Festival of Women’s Theatre, and “In Celebration of The Muse” a Writers’ Festival produced annually for over 40 years, she can be reached at: wilmakchandl@gmail.com
