Where: Berkeley Marina - Meet at the Double Tree Hotel
200 Marina Blvd. Berkeley - Walk through the lobby to the
back patio
Who: Open to all. If you are not a member or volunteer, we would
love to tell you about Ashby Village!
Description:
We will meet at the Double Tree hotel ( through the lobby to the back patio). Our leader, Helen Canin is an AV member and long time resident of the Berkeley Marina. This will be the second of three Marina Walks that she has graciously offered to lead.
We will walk from the hotel through “the meadow”, cross the road at the Sea Breeze where there are restrooms, and walk along the bay path (or for those that prefer, the paved path near the road) and return to our cars, passing by the boats on the west side. This should take 3/4 hour.
For those wanting additional walking time, Cesar Chavez Park is near the hotel for a circular walk or an out and back.
Location and Parking: Follow your navigation setting to 200 Marina Blvd., Berkeley to the Double Tree Hotel There is public parking along the road opposite the hotel. Walk through the lobby of the hotel to the patio through the sliding glass doors.
What to bring: Good walking shoes, layered clothing for variable weather by the bay (can be breezy), water, windbreaker, hat, and binoculars. Walking poles are always a good option for stability even on flat surfaces.
Transportation: Members can request a ride from the Ashby Village office (advance notice please), or have a guest bring you, and join you on the walk.
