Berkeley Folk Dancers Showcase
Folk dancing is done in almost every country.
Berkeley Folk Dancers, one of the USA’s oldest clubs (>80 years) and largest (>150 members), teaches and practices a repertoire of hundreds of dances. On August 1, we will showcase a few that span some of the regions, including England, Scotland, Israel, the Balkans, Germany, Poland, Asia, the Americas etc. Let’s dance!
Andy Partos (left) is one of the dedicated teachers with the Berkeley Folk Dancers. He leads an introductory class titled
Having Fun with Folk Dancing. A longtime Berkeley resident, Andy has been dancing with the group for 15 years and has spent the past nine years sharing his passion as an instructor.
Luoping Zhang (right) is a vibrant and zealous dancer in the Berkeley Folk Dancers community, where she has been dancing for more than 20 years. Since retiring from UC Berkeley, she has devoted her energy and enthusiasm to both dancing and teaching with the group.
