Tips for apple computer users: Cut and Copy & Paste

In this Tech Tip, we show you how to cut text or copy/paste text on an Apple computer. Cut and copy/paste are universal across all applications. Once you have learned these skills, you can use them when writing or editing your emails, documents, or spreadsheets. If you wish to cut and copy/paste images, the methods we illustrate are the same.
1. Select the text:Whether you are using a mouse or a trackpad, click at the beginning of your selected text, move the cursorto the end of the selected text, and release.
2. Cut: Once your selected text is highlighted, if you wish to delete the text, you have two options. You can pull down the Edit menu and choose Cut.
Or you can press the two keys “command” + X.
3. Copy: Once the text is highlighted, if you wish to copy the text, you have two options. You can pull down the Edit menu and choose Copy.
Or you can press the two keys “command” + C.
4. Paste:To “paste” your text in a new location,move your cursor to the new location, click with mouse or trackpad, and then you have two options. You can pull down the Edit menu and choose Paste.
