Jimmy Carter: The Rock and Roll President
On Friday, February 12, from 5:00-6:00 PM, we’ll discuss Jimmy Carter: The Rock and Roll President, which Variety called, “a documentary of infectious and lively nostalgia”, and The Hollywood Reporter said “was as joyful and buoyant as its music.” Many musicians perform and are interviewed, including Gregg Allman, Garth Brooks, Bono, Paul Simon and Rosanne Cash. Jimmy Carter said that “Bob Dylan has been one of my best friends, along with Willie Nelson.” You’ll hear Carter’s revealing truth about the rumor that Willie Nelson smoked pot in the White House, but perhaps the most significant things you’ll get out of the documentary is you’ll realize that Jimmy Carter is a highly intelligent, principled, and humble man who has become the greatest former president we’ve ever had. First ady Rosalynn and one of their sons are also prominently featured in the documentary. Don’t miss it - you’ll love it.
The film is available on for a fee on Amazon Prime, Vudu and YouTube. There also is supposed to be a repeat showing on CNN on 1/30/21—check the TV schedule.
