Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment

Why does Bone Loss Matter?

How Can I Keep My Bones Strong?

What Treatments are Available and are they Safe?

Join us to hear Morali D Sharma, MD and Janet A Lai, MD from Kaiser Permanente Oakland speak on this topic of importance to both men and women.

Dr. Sharma is an Associate Professor at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, where she is a member of the TPMG Endocrinology Fracture Prevention program. She both treats patients with osteoporosis and educates primary care physicians about osteoporosis. After participating in an endocrinology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, she spent 21 years at Baylor as a clinician educator. She joined Kaiser in 2017.

Dr. Lai has been an internal medicine physician at Kaiser Permanente Oakland since 2005. She enjoys practicing medicine and developing long-lasting connections with her patients. In addition to her clinical practice, she is one of the Medical Directors for Outpatient Quality, and focuses on cancer prevention, cardiovascular health, and other aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
