Description:
We will meet at  the  Double Tree hotel ( through the lobby to the back patio).  Our leader, Helen Canin is an AV member and long time resident of the Berkeley Marina. This will be the first of three Marina Walks that she has graciously offered to lead in the next few months.

We will walk together on a Marina route for about an hour, as Helen shares her knowledge of Marina history and happenings. There is a temporary toilet facility at the western turnaround of the park.  A permanent bathroom is in the works. There is an optional self paid lunch at the Berkeley Boathouse  at the conclusion of the walk. We'll discuss these options as we stroll the route.

Helen and her husband Paul, who passed away earlier this year, are featured in the May  AV Newsletter,  posted here for you to read about the houseboat they built, and their interesting story.

Location and ParkingFollow your navigation setting to 200 Marina Blvd., Berkeley to the Double Tree Hotel  There is public parking along the road opposite the hotel. This is also the location of the Berkeley Boathouse Restaurant for one of the lunch choices afterward.

What to bring: Good walking shoes, layered clothing for variable weather by the bay (can be breezy), water, windbreaker, hat, and binoculars.  Walking poles are always a good option for stability even on flat surfaces.. Cash or  credit card for the lunch if you are joining us afterwards.

Transportation: Members can request a ride from the Ashby Village office (advance notice please), or have a guest bring you, and join you on the walk.
